We’re a 4 year old toddler and still growing creating fun play experiences for kids.

I grin to myself when I think of our small family owned business as being like a newborn baby. Our birth month was February 2014, when we launched our first store for kids toys online on Etsy. However; a bit like a gestation period, approximately 12 months of hard work went into the business before we even got to the point of opening our online toy store in Australia.

Etsy was a creative’s paradise with lots of handmade artisans like us to learn from and fantastic engaged and socially conscious customers looking for that special handmade wooden toy or wooden gift. This was our learning to crawl phase.

In early 2015 we had outgrown our Etsy online toy store. Our customers were asking for more product options such as being able to select a character shape or wood colour etc. and Etsy’s site didn’t allow the customisation our online store needed so we made the big move to our secure and fully hosted greengrub Wooden Toy’s online shop.

Around the same time we made the exciting decision to use Bamboo as our primary wood material for our handmade wooden toys, which our customers just loved! This ushered in the toddler phase and we’ve been perfecting our running and bike riding, code for juggling family and business commitments ever since.

We’re now 4 years old, kicked off our bikes training wheels and have been looking for a big hill to roar down and we think we’ve found one!! Stay tuned and keep an eye on our store over the next few months as we share the excitement of growing up.
